Officials have reported that a missile strike, allegedly conducted by Ukrainian forces, has targeted the headquarters of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, Crimea. This incident is the latest in a series of attacks directed at Russian military installations on the peninsula.
Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Moscow-appointed leader in Sevastopol, who oversees the occupied region, communicated the missile strike via Telegram, stating, “The enemies launched a missile strike at the fleet headquarters.” He also expressed concerns about the possibility of another attack. Numerous images and videos shared by local residents on Telegram depicted thick plumes of smoke emanating from the targeted building, revealing significant damage caused by the strike.
It’s important to note that Ukraine has not yet officially claimed responsibility for this attack. However, in recent weeks, Ukrainian forces have carried out multiple air strikes on Russian military bases and logistical centers situated in occupied Crimea.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in Ottawa for a crucial visit during which he is expected to address the Canadian parliament, seeking additional support for Ukraine and its military efforts.
